Investors to help SafeSight send drones underground
Mike Campigotto is leading a North Bay company that’s bringing the latest technology to the mining industry.
“Our business model basically is meant to take the latest drone technology and bring it under surface to do some of the fundamental activities that mines do in their production,” says Campigotto, president of SafeSight. “We can send a drone in there at no risk to human life and a drone can do it faster and more effectively.”
The company has been selected to receive funding from Northern Ontario Angels, a non-profit organization that connects investors to businesses across the region that are looking for financial support.
“Our average deal is about $400,000,” says NOA executive director Mary Long-Irwin. “We’ve done deals as small as $30,000, but we’ve also done deals as large as $5.2 million in one shot.”.....
